Product Details

Try our new “Gardener’s Double Delight Mix” a gorgeous easy to sow ‘n’ grow combination of annual and perennial wildflowers. Perfect for the border or making a meadow display.

Our mix has annuals Corncockle, Cornflower and Corn Chamomile, and perennials Meadow Buttercup, Ox-Eye Daisy, Bird’s-foot-trefoil, Meadowsweet and Red Campion. This combination will give you a burst of pink, white and blue from the annuals in year one, followed in
year two with a show of perennials in shades of yellows, pinks and whites.

Ground cover is provided by the Birdsfoot- trefoil, and it will attract butterflies and bees, which love its nectar. For best results, good ground preparation is essential. Don’t sow directly into grass or weedy areas, the wildflowers won’t survive or compete in areas with grass. Allow around 12 weeks from sowing for the first annual flowers (always dependent on the weather, if we have a really dry spring, keep the patch well watered).

Maintenance
Year One - as soon as the annuals are past their best, then cut or mow, and remove the cuttings to let light through to the perennials. The perennial plants will over winter and start producing flowers in the spring of year two and onwards into the summer.

Year Two - allow the seeds to ripen and fall onto the soil - usually around the end of August. Cut back hard and collect the cuttings. The cycle will start again in the spring.

Sowing Rate
We recommend sowing at 5g per m2. For example a  10g pouch will cover 2m2 and a 50g pouch will cover 10m2. On a larger scale, the 5kg sack will cover 1,000 m2 (approximately 1/4 of an Acre).
